He is a 1979 graduate of the Glasgow University School of Medicine in Scotland, one of the oldest established medical schools in the world. He came to New York for training in surgery and subsequently completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at Case Western Reserve University, one of the most prestigious plastic surgery training programs in the United States. He went on to undertake additional training in pediatric plastic surgery with Professor James Lehman and became assistant professor of Plastic Surgery at The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
He has lectured internationally on liposuction and body contouring surgery as well as non-surgical facial rejuvenation. He is also the author of the best selling book “Doctor, Is Liposuction right for me?“
He is an attending surgeon at Hoboken University Medical Center, Meadowland Medical Center and Englewood Hospital where he performs most surgical procedures. In addition to his interest in surgical contouring of the body and breast he also has an interest in non-surgical body shaping and is the author of the book “Doctor, How Do I Lose Weight?” His commitment to natural appearing surgical results and minimal scar surgery has led to him being an advocate of trans-umbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) which results in natural appearing breast enlargement without visible scars. While he is not an advocate of fat grafting for breast enlargement he is very active in the use of fat grafting and stem cell enhancement of fat cell grafting for facial rejuvenation. This approach is more permanent and may give better results than facial fillers alone.
While plastic surgery encompasses reconstructive surgery, Dr. Sandhu is best known for cosmetic surgery. His skill with body contouring surgeries, such as liposuction and breast shaping, as well as facial enhancements such as face-lifts, rhinoplasty, and eyelid surgery, are why patients come from all around the world seek him out.
Non-surgical rejuvenation programs including peels, microdermabrasion, collagen injections, and other injections are also available.
Hair transplant using the follicle by follicle method is a particular specialty for Dr. Sandhu. Using Neograft technology he achieves a natural undetectable hairline. Hair transplantation with Neograft leaves no visible scar unlike the “strip method” or FUT technique.
